Culina Logistics
Culina Logistics recently merged with established Chess customer Baylis Distribution to create a £125M food & drink logistics group offering ambient and chilled storage and distribution from eight distribution centres around the country.
Baylis standardised on Chess WMS systems in the mid 1990’s and subsequently deployed them across their network of regional sites to manage operations for all customers.
The system provides an integrated environment that allows staff and customers to access real time information on stock, orders and goods in transit giving a complete and accurate view of operations. Extensive EDI supports information exchange with customers and between distribution hubs.
Each site operates its own system and information is exchanged between them across the company's secure intranet. The system provides a seamless company-wide solution that incorporates links with back-office and other business systems. It uses browser technology to provide a common interface for internal staff and customers.
