Empirica Mobile is a framework for developing and hosting applications on the Windows Mobile (5+) platform.  It’s a self contained, hardware independent product which provides everything needed to develop, run and maintain mobile applications.  It uses advanced technology to manage business logic and communications, needs no complex version control to keep device software up to date, and automates all data transmission and communications selection. 

Empirica Mobile can use wired (USB), Wi-Fi and all mobile telecomms options.  The PDA based ‘message manager’ handles all transmission between device and host, managing updates, data security, message priority and selectable communication path rules.

Empirica Mobile’s advanced ‘update manager’ checks PDA software at logon and ensures its software is up to date.  Where required, it automatically requests live updates from the host to ensure  compliance with latest version software components.

Empirica Mobile has an integral PDA database to allow storage of temporary data as a ‘message queue’. This means that even where remote connection is lost, work data can still be stored on the device and sent when communication resumes.

Empirica Mobile uses an in-built ‘server integration manager’ to interface with any host application using Web services (SOAP), XML, http, ftp and CSV based formats.

Empirica Mobile is totally hardware independent, allowing any PDA make to be used, or combined with others.  This is done via intelligent software ‘plug-ins’ which control access to manufacturer specific hardware features such as scanners, cameras and GPS receivers.
