The Warehouse Technology Group (WTG) is an organisation started in 2009 by a group of like minded companies, including Chess, supplying specialist products and services to the warehousing sector. Now comprising 20 members, the WTG hosts regular events at its Manchester location and offers help, advice and guidance to industry.

The WTG recognises the role of the UK’s warehousing and logistics sector in delivering economic prosperity. It seeks to promote the advantages of using innovative and established technology with the aim of improving industry efficiency, competitiveness and control of costs.

As a multi disciplinary trade body, the WTG is in a unique position to offer the industry help and advice on many areas of warehouse technology and equipment. It aims to deliver this through regular open days, and via the soon to be redeveloped website using a database of supplier information, white papers, informative opinion and an advice forum. However for anyone with a ‘green-field’ warehouse project, the WTG has no problem with being seen as a one stop shop!

The WTG site in north Manchester features a fully operational warehouse designed to showcase modern storage and handling equipment and demonstrate state-of-the- art technology. The site also provides excellent facilities for meetings and seminars for the use of members and their guests.
