“With Empirica we have been able to adopt a warehouse management system that provides a greater level of confidence and allows us to change the way we manage inventory.”
Flint Group, formerly Varn International, is a chemical and equipment manufacturer with more than 50 years’ service to the pressroom. It is an international company with facilities in nine different countries providing pressroom products to over 90 per cent of the world’s economy. Its products are used in the UK by a number of daily newspapers as well as many smaller printers.
By implementing an Empirica warehouse management solution from Chess Logistics Technology at its Manchester warehouse the company has also been able to introduce batch traceability and create direct links between inventory and other business systems for the first time to help enhance its service to customers.
Flint Group had a number of key requirements from a WMS system, which included improvement of management of raw materials and finished goods inventory, and order picking. The company also identified a need for batch stock traceability to help add value to its customer service.
